Overview

These terms govern the purchase of made-to-order furniture from Studio Curio. By placing an order, you agree to these terms.

Studio Curio is based in Dubai, UAE. All prices are in AED. All pieces are made to order in the UAE.

Orders & confirmation

Adding a piece to your order and submitting a request invoice is not a binding order — it is an expression of interest. A binding order is confirmed only once you receive a written order confirmation from Studio Curio and a deposit invoice has been settled.

We reserve the right to decline any order at our discretion, including where a piece is temporarily unavailable or where production capacity is at limit.

Pricing

All prices shown on the site are in AED and are indicative. Final pricing is confirmed in the order confirmation email, which may vary for bespoke specifications, non-standard dimensions, or custom material selections.

Studio Curio reserves the right to update pricing at any time. Price changes do not affect confirmed, deposited orders.

Payment

A 50% deposit is required to begin production. The remaining balance is due before delivery. Payment details are provided in the invoice.

We accept bank transfer (UAE and international). Other arrangements may be discussed on request.

Lead times

Standard lead time is 2–8 weeks from deposit receipt. This may extend for pieces with bespoke specifications, imported materials, or during periods of high demand. Confirmed lead time is stated in your order confirmation.

We will notify you of any significant change to your estimated lead time. Delays caused by material supply, logistics, or circumstances beyond our control do not constitute grounds for order cancellation after production has begun.

Cancellations & changes

Because every piece is made to order, cancellations after production begins are not accepted. Deposits are non-refundable once work has started.

Specification changes (dimensions, material, finish) may be accommodated before production begins and may affect pricing and lead time. Changes during production are at our discretion.

Delivery

Delivery is free within the UAE. Delivery to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Oman is a flat AED 200 per order. Delivery to other countries is quoted on request and confirmed before dispatch.

We work with specialist furniture handlers for all deliveries. Once a piece is finished, delivery typically takes 1–3 days within the UAE and 3–7 days to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Oman.

Risk passes to the client upon successful delivery. We will provide photographic evidence of condition at dispatch.

Warranty

Structural frames carry a 10-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal residential use. Stone surfaces are warranted for 5 years, leather for 3 years, and upholstery for 2 years.

Warranty covers manufacturing defects only. It does not cover damage from misuse, improper care, environmental conditions (excess humidity, direct sunlight), or normal wear. Care guides are available at studiocurio.ae/care.

Returns

You can return a standard collection piece for any reason within 14 days of delivery. This applies to orders delivered in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Oman.

To start a return, write to hello@studiocurio.ae with your order reference. Pieces must be unused and in their original condition. Once approved, send the piece back to our Dubai studio by courier — we will share the return address. For change-of-mind returns, return shipping is the customer's responsibility. There is no restocking fee.

We inspect the piece on arrival and issue store credit for the amount paid within 14 days of receiving it. Returns are refunded as store credit, not cash. We do not offer exchanges.

Bespoke pieces and pieces made to a custom specification (non-standard dimensions, materials, or finishes outside the listed options) cannot be returned for change of mind.

Defective or damaged pieces are handled differently. Contact us at hello@studiocurio.ae with your order reference and photographs of the issue. We arrange and pay for collection, and we will repair the piece, replace it, or refund the amount paid to your original payment method — at no cost to you. This applies to all pieces, including bespoke ones, and sits alongside the warranty above. The return shipping and store-credit terms above apply only to change-of-mind returns.

Custom & commission work

Bespoke commissions — pieces outside the standard collection — are subject to a separate written brief and agreement. The terms above apply except where the commission agreement specifies otherwise.

Intellectual property in all designs remains with Studio Curio. Clients receive a right to use the physical piece, not to reproduce or replicate the design.

Limitation of liability

Studio Curio's liability in any dispute is limited to the value of the order in question. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and the emirate of Dubai. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Dubai courts.
